About Us
Stuart Avern is the proprietor and founder of the Midas Mortgage Centre in 2006 and has been supporting our clients with their home purchases and remortgages as well as looking after them with protection insurance ever since. In 2014 Jo Donne joined the business, first as office manager and administrator. Then in 2017 Jo qualified as a protection adviser in her own right and has been working both roles since then.

Stuart has been involved in the financial services industry for over 25 years. After leaving college Stuart started out as a trainee accountant for a firm of Chartered Accountants in Cornwall. He has since excelled in a financial capacity working for various large financial organisations in Sussex and the City of London.
Stuart currently resides in Sussex. He is a qualified accountant with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. As one would expect he is also a fully qualified CeMAP Mortgage Adviser.
Stuart genuinely believes that the success of the business comes from looking after clients on a long term basis. This can only be achieved through hard work, honesty and integrity and the build up of trust. Mortgage broking is not about 'sales' but the 'provision of a service' through listening and understanding client requirements and providing the right economic solution.
When not working on behalf of his clients Stuart enjoys spending time with his two children and on the rare occasion you may just catch him playing a round of golf on a local course!

Jo grew up here in Sussex and following a five year period living in the USA she returned to the county and by 2016 was back living in her childhood home of Shoreham-by-Sea. She counts her greatest achievement as being the proud Mum to her two amazing grown up sons.
Jo joined the Midas Mortgage Centre in September 2014 after running her own interior design business and working in NHS administration, giving her an excellent background to act as Mortgage Administrator. Her medical knowledge has been invaluable when speaking to clients about their personal protection and because of this, Jo decided to qualify as a Protection Adviser herself in 2017.
Jo continues to support the Midas Mortgage Centre in both capacities.
